EMG's Government Facility Assessment team provides reliable,
comprehensive information and consulting for local, state and
federal facilities.
With our expertise, we assess government portfolios, evaluating
facility needs and projecting capital repair and replacement
budgets. We have more than 150 technical professionals, comprised of
architects, engineers, facility and building specialists, and
environmental professionals located throughout the U.S. Many are
licensed in more than one state.
State/Local We perform extensive facility and building,
engineering, and environmental services to state and local
government entities. Our project portfolio includes:
- Preparation of a map and database of a city’s contaminated
sites to flag properties in need of further investigation in
advance of redevelopment project plans.
- Property condition assessments of parks and recreation
facilities including capital improvement plans with cost
estimates. Project included preparation of maintenance funding
applications.
- Comprehensive survey and needs database for state public
works agency including short-term repair and 10-year capital
estimates, and digital full color versions of facility
assessment reports.
Federal Perhaps the largest property owner in the country, the
U.S. Government has a myriad of facility and property types along
with a wide variety of protocols and practices regarding building
and site maintenance. EMG’s longstanding relationship with the
federal government continues to expand our knowledge and expertise
in this industry.
Our federal project portfolio includes:
- Property condition assessments of 44
GSA-managed buildings
including the development of a Web database with photos
documenting the conditions of the properties.
- Assessment of over one million square feet of Army transient
lodging facilities including an evaluation of compliance with
Army lodging facility standards and force protection guidelines.
Our work enabled the Army to establish cost estimates for new
construction.
- Capital needs assessments for government office buildings
including comprehensive inspections of all spaces, equipment,
and building systems.
