Seismic Risk Assessment
EMG’s licensed engineers and architects hold extensive knowledge
of ASTM-E2026-07 Standard Guide
for Seismic Risk Assessment of Buildings, as well as in engineering
seismic design and
construction methods.
For Seismic Risk Assessments, typical EMG reports present the
site seismic risks and building damage potential, utilizing probable
maximum loss assessment parameters described in ASTM-2026-07 and
ASTM-2557-07 guide standards. Once the report is complete, we are
available to discuss the results with our clients, as to the impact
of the findings in support of their critical investment and planning
decisions.
In the Map Link Below you will find a
downloadable reference of the Seismic Zone Map of the United States
as was published in the Uniform Building Code. We’ve found that this
map comes in handy as a quick reference to easily identify projects
located in areas that have the greatest potential to be impacted by
seismic activity.
The zones identified take into consideration the geographic and
historical distribution of earthquakes and rank seismicity from 0 to
4 in a visually discernable color coded map. Areas in Zones 0 and 1
have the lowest probability of damaging ground motion, while those
in Zone 4 have the highest probability.
