Brownfields 2004 Gateway to Revitalization, St. Louis MO (September 22, 2004)
Topics of discussion included the comments received to date on the draft regulation. Most of the comments received by EPA to date have centered around the definition of the Environmental Professional; the role of the Environmental Professional; the “shelf life” of the All Appropriate Inquiry; and the requirement of the Environmental Professional to provide an opinion as to whether the inquiry has identified conditions indicative of releases or threatened release of hazardous substances.

ASTM Meetings:

ASTM E50.02.06 Task Group Meeting, Washington, DC (October 5, 2004 - 8:30am- 12:00pm)
During the meeting, the ASTM Task Group (Task Group) reviewed the ASTM 1527 September 2004 redline version that was submitted to EPA. Informal comments supplied by the EPA were also reviewed and discussed by the Task Group and EPA representatives during this meeting. The EPA stated that it is committed to the spirit of cooperation in working with ASTM toward the 1527-2005 standard, with the goal of the standard being referenced in the final All Appropriate Inquiry rule. The Task Group is targeting the April 2005 group meeting for the final ASTM 1527 version to be ready to go to ballot.
